The Nikonos IV-A was released in 1980 and was the 4th model of underwater cameras from Nikon and the first completely original design. (the first three being modified and improved versions of the Calypso underwater camera) The IV-A adopted many features only available in SLR cameras for land-use at the time, including a TTL meter and aperture AE control mechanism, an electronically controlled shutter and a hinged-type open and close camera back as well as significantly easier operation. The viewfinder included LED display of exposure and flash status. Paired with the 28mm F3.5 UW lens and SB103 Flash, the IV-A provides all you need for underwater photography.
