Edge of the Park with Ed Smith
Join us on the Edge of the Cairngorm National Park with Ed Smith
As Part of Canon Week of Photography:
Sunday 21st September 2025 - Leaving Inverness at 09:00 and returning at approx 18:00 (or meet us there).
Just over an hours+ drive from Ffordes shop, where Ed Smith, an award-winning photographer with an artistry for conveying nuances of connection throughout his environment and people focused photography will guide and inspire you to unleash your creativity.
These workshops are not only for Canon shooters but for those who want to explore and open up your creative possibilities within the Cairngorms National Park, whatever the weather.
You will be focusing on photographic narrative and a variety of techniques to enjoy the variety of the moors, woodlands, burns and landmarks. From capturing ethereal long exposures of the burn rapids to dramatic plays of light along the valley, or focusing on the micro details of the flora spotted along the way, this workshop will bring your senses to the forefront in advancing what you can capture and the stories you will go on to tell from your own local landscape.
Ed Smith will lead the workshop with Alister there as a helping hand, to help you compose and create your image. As always Canon will supply some toys for customers to try and test. If you wish to compare your current equipment against theirs or wish to try a lens or body that you were thinking of buying this could be the perfect opportunity. Please let us know beforehand if you would like to try a specific camera or lens and we can organise this for you.
Workshops are a great way to expand your photographic process, knowledge and understanding, as well as finding new locations and friends that have the save hobby as you. Special offers on the day and you will be entered into the prize draw for the best picture taken on the day.
Meet in Kingussie at 10am. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
