Leica 70mm F2.5 Asph CS Summarit S

As a classical standard lens, the SUMMARIT-S 70 mm F/2.5 ASPH. CS produces a high richness of contrast up to the 0.5 metre minimum distance setting due to a floating element. With its special highly refractive glass with anomalous partial dispersion, the lens guarantees superb sharpness right to the edges of the image field. A built-in front filter protects the lens from moisture, so that the Summarit-S 70 mm F/2.5 ASPH. CS also performs reliably when used in unfavourable weather conditions. 
 
This is the CS version of the lens, which has a central shutter, also known as a leaf shutter, built-in. The central shutter allows the S camera to sync with a flash unit at any shutter speed up to and including 1/1000th of a second. This provides the photographer with exceptional control when balancing ambient and strobe lighting.
