35mm F2 Macro Apo Ultron Fuji X

The MACRO APO-ULTRON 35mm F2 X Mount is an interchangeable lens exclusively for the FUJIFILM X mount. It is a manual focus standard macro lens with large aperture covering the APS-C size image circle. This is optimized for the image sensor of FUJIFILM X system cameras. The lens is also equipped with electronic contacts to ensure reliable communication between the lens and camera body, as provided by FUJIFILM Corporation. The combination of a lens body that supports electrical communication and the latest firmware enables capturing exif information. Features, such as focus check, and shooting distance-linked display, as well as in-body image stabilization and parallax correction with certain models. When the camera is attached to a model that does not support electrical contacts, aperture-priority auto shooting is possible by setting the camera's release without lens to "Permitted". The lens configuration consists of nine elements in six groups, with the latest optical system using three elements of abnormal partial-dispersion glass. In addition to natural color reproduction, without color bleeding because of the apochromatic design, the lens has a maximum aperture of F2, which is an exceptionally large aperture for a macro lens, yet the lens remains compact in size. For focusing, the lens employs a front-focusing system in which the front four groups of six elements are moved together. This method enables the lens to shorten the extension length which is difficult to achieve within a motor in an auto-focus lens.

The aperture blades consist of 10 elements with a 1/3-step click stop that takes into account the shape of the bokeh. The aperture mechanism uses an aperture ring directly connected to the opening and closing of the aperture blades, similar to the mechanism used in the Voigtländer VM mount and mirrorless mount lenses. The minimum focusing distance is 16.3 cm (1:2 magnification), and the working distance from the subject is 6 cm with the hood attached. In addition to the shallow focusing effect in close-up photography, the large bokeh, characteristic of large-aperture macro photography, expands the possibilities for creative image making. Since this lens has image quality that can be used with confidence, regardless of the distance to the subject, it is recommended not only for macro photography, but also for the purpose of a single focal length lens. A compact, dedicated straight screw-in hood is included.
