Like the other cameras in the a7 series, this camera is small and lightweight, yet has a sturdy magnesium alloy body and features a 24.3 effective megapixel 35 mm full-frame Exmor® CMOS sensor.
With the a7 II, you’ll find that the camera features 5-axis image stabilization. This will detect and then correct, various camera shake for still images and video to the equivalent of up to 4.5 steps faster. This will enable you to shoot sharp videos or stills in conditions where you might have needed a tripod in the past, such as shooting in low-light conditions. As it is the sensor itself that moves to compensate for any camera shake, you will find that the image stabilisation is effective even in combination with E-mount lenses without Optical SteadyShot (OSS), or when you are using A-mount lenses (although you’ll need a lens mount adapter LA-EA4 or LA-EA3 so that these lenses fit to the body). 
Using the a7 II, you’ll also find that the autofocus speed has been improved on the previous models, by about 30%. Sony have also improved the way in which the camera tracks fast moving objects so that you never miss the moment.
