Honeywell Spotmatic + 55mm F2
The name Honeywell indicates this is an American import version of the Spotmatic.
The Pentax Spotmatic was introduced in 1960 and released in 1964.
Whilst the name (given at Photokina in 1960) indicates spot metering, the method was felt to be too complicated to use so centre-weighted average metering was introduced instead shortly before production began but it was too late to change the name so it stuck.
One of the first SLR cameras to offer a TTL exposure metering system, the Stopmatic was entirely mechanical apart from the light meter and the M42 screw thread offered a wide range of compatible lenses making it a favourite with many professionals of the time.
